Pep Guardiola says Sergio Aguero could play in
Manchester City's Champions League tie against Celtic despite his
four-game FA ban.
The FA confirmed Aguero will be suspended for four matches
after his red card in stoppage time against Chelsea, having already
received a three-game ban for an elbow on Winston Reid earlier in the
season.Fernandinho has also been handed a three-game ban for his involvement in the aftermath to Aguero's dismissal, and ahead of City's final Champions League group tie on Tuesday, Guardiola admits his side lost their temperament late on against Chelsea and the confirmed the club will not contest the charges.
"
"Manchester City won one Premier League in 96 or 97 minutes. But still I don't have regrets about what we played. That is the step from here to improve and to become a better team.
"It's a pity what happened in the last minute for many circumstances and of course we are going to accept the ban from the Football Association and we're going to work with other players in the next games."
Aguero's ban rules him out for City's next four Premier League fixtures, which includes games against Leicester City, Watford, Arsenal and Hull.
Although his side have already qualified for the Champions League knockout rounds, Aguero could feature against Celtic with the Man City boss needing to rest other players for top-flight action in the striker's absence.
"There will be changes tomorrow definitely. I'm so happy to be able to give minutes to people who deserve to play who perhaps didn't play the last game," said Guardiola.
"That doesn't mean it won't be important for me. I will demand the best from those players. But if Sergio is going to play or not, I will decide today or tomorrow. I don't know right now."
