Ronald Koeman has blamed Everton's poor second half performance and a lengthy eight minute added time for their 1-0 defeat to Liverpool in Monday night's Merseyside derby clash in the English Premier League.
The former Southampton boss also stated that the eight added minutes affected his team.
"I think it was a very good team performance," Koeman said.
"It was the best first 45 minutes. We were very aggressive. There was a big chance with the header from a corner kick.
"In the second half, we had it more difficult. The substitutes of Liverpool had a big impact in the final result. We didn't keep the ball after the break so much. The team didn't deserve to lose the game.
"If you get the goal then that gives a boost. The eight minutes of extra time even made it more difficult," Koeman amented.
