Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has praised his players for their spirited display against Watford at the Ethiad Stadium on Wednesday night
Guardiola's men defeated Watford 2-0, thanks to strikes from Pablo Zabaleta and David Silva.
The game also saw the Citizens keep their second clean sheet in their last 18 games and Guardiola admits it was a team effort.
"We won, we had a good performance. All the team worked hard and it is good to get a clean sheet and all our defenders did well against tough, tough strikers," Guardiola said during his post match interview.
"The game is always open here in England, Watford have impressed me. They have amazing strikers, strong and physical, but my players played with the spirit."
Guardiola also believes Claudio Bravo will come good despite strings of unimpressive performances in goal for Manchester City.
"It is not easy to come to a new club and a new country. I know what people say about, him but he has good experience. When moments arrive he has to be brave. today he was excellent."
The former Barcelona and Bayern Munich gaffer also revealed that Ilkay Gundogan who limped out during the game could face another long spell out having started the season out injured.
"I'm so sad for Ilkay Gundogan as it looks like we’ll be without him for a long time. I think several months."
On Pablo Zabaleta who grabbed the opener, Guardiola said: "We need his spirit, he is part of this history and played well with and without the ball. On the pitch and in the dressing room he is important for us.
