Oboabona To Sunshine: Forget Defeat By Enyimba, Focus On 3SC

OboabonaAs Sunshine Stars prepare to tackle 3SC of Ibadan in their 1st home match of the season on Wednesday, former captain of the Akure based team, Godfrey Oboabona, charges the team to put behind their opening season defeat at Enyimba and focus on the match against 3SC.

Oboabona who captained Sunshine Stars to the semi-final of CAF Champions League and CAF Confederations Cup commended the players for their decent performance against Enyimba despute losing the match.
"It is unfortunate that the team lost against Enyimba despite playing very well, but that is football for you as the best team don't always win,” Oboabona states.


"I hope the players will forget the Enyimba match and keep their focus on the next match against 3SC in Akure and do their best to win in front of the Akure fans".

The Super Eagles defender called on all soccer loving people of Ondo state to come to the stadium in their thousands on Wednesday to give maximum support to the team.

"It is very important to have a full house at the stadium on Wednesday because of the nature of the match and the opponent involved.

"The fans must come out to play the role of the 12th player in a bid to give the team the needed support as match against 3SC is always difficult".

The Rizespor of Turkey defence strongman however commends the Ondo State government for the support being given to the team.

Meanwhile, Sunshine Stars captain, Abe Sunday has thanked Ondo State indigenes in Calabar for their support in the match against Enyimba.

Abe who did not play the match due to injury was on ground to give moral support to the team.

"We say a big thank you to them and we call on our fans to be at the stadium on Wednesday as we face 3SC in Akure in our 1st home match of the season," Abe says.

Sunshine Stars lost 1-0 to Enyimba in their opening match of the season.
